Who We Are:
Calvary Denver Downtown is a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching Christian fellowship where we gather to worship our Lord Jesus Christ, to learn of Him, know Him, serve Him, and glorify Him. We agree with God, who desires that all people would be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 2:4)
We are a non-denominational church, preferring to emphasize God’s stated biblical values, priorities and standards of life and conduct, rather than those determined by man.
Our Three-Fold Purpose
1. Towards God: You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.(Matthew 22:37) We believe that knowing, loving, worshiping, and serving God is man’s highest calling, and our relationship to Him is our highest priority. All else in life flows out of this relationship.
2. Towards the fellowship: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.(Matthew 22:39) We believe that, as members of the spiritual family known as the Church, we are to be equipped, and equip others in the Body of Christ for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12), through teaching the Bible book by book, verse by verse, and providing opportunities to pray, fellowship, learn, grow, and serve.
3. Towards the world: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20) We believe that Jesus has commanded His people to reach out to the world with the gospel, to expand His kingdom. Therefore, we are active in evangelism in many forms, support world and domestic missions, and reach out to our community with God”s Truth, and His love.
